Untitled (Breezy wants to love you 2.) 2012. Ink Jet Print 210 x 148 mm.

Yo breezy!

These prints where from a series where I began to explore misogyny within pop culture more specifically pop music ( yes I no Chris, you probably consider yourself some amazing hip hop gangster god) and how its themes/ideals are operating within contemporary society.

Gotta love a bit of misogyny over the dinner table right?

Art Crush- Marianna Rothen

When my beautiful friend Maria returned from a trip to New York she gave me a little postcard from an exhibition of Marianna Rothen's photographs she had attended in the city of dreams with strict instructions that I must check out her practice, and I was instantly in love.

Her photographs have a beautiful light air to them whilst remaining captivating even after hour's of staring. The nod to nostalgic glamour of the 50s/60/70s of course had me drooling but I enjoy the fact that they are not denying their contemporary roots. She often places herself within an image but also employs a variety of female models, allowing for many a role to be played.

I am truly in awe of her work. Art/life/beauty crushing hard.

An image from some experimentations with staging and photography.

Just playing around and having fun really, had a few new friends that day as I had made a rather large batch of cookies and a girl can only eat so many packet born cookies.
